P6/7 were investigating if dissolving was a physical or chemical change. They did this by dissolving sugar and tasting it, thus finding that it tasted sweet. Then they evaporated off the water and tasted again. It was still sweet. This meant that they found they had not made anything new, therefore discovering that dissolving is a physical change. The next task was to heat the sugar on the hob and taste the results. They found it tasted unpleasant. This therefore showed that burning/heating is a chemical change.
